AI Research Manager, Unbabel, Center for Responsible AI

I am a Senior AI Research Manager at Unbabel and the Product Lead for Halo, a product created within the Center for Responsible AI. I hold a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and a PhD in Computational Psychiatry from Universidade de Lisboa. Since joining Unbabel in 2019, I’ve contributed to machine translation evaluation, co-authoring the state-of-the-art metric COMET. In early 2023, I transitioned to the Innovation Team (Unbabel Labs), where I focus on bridging research and product development. 

I’m also involved in several initiatives, including Girls in AI at IST and the Portuguese Executive Women in Tech Community by Amazon.
